Kent TV is no more. After two and a half years, our bold experiment in IPTV is coming to a close on March 31st 2010.
In our time our channel - funded by Kent County Council and run by Ten Alps Digital - pushed the frontiers of innovation, producing more than 2,500 videos and launching a unique film-based What's On guide.
We pioneered information film-making with our 'How-To' film strand and provided a show case for some of the county's brightest and best young film makers. We hosted an online 'Battle of the Bands,' created 'Hollywould' - an interactive drama for young people - and created competitions for Animations and Visit Kent.
Our small team of 10 has collaborated with the independent sector as well as colleges and schools in Kent to give scores of people the chance to work in the industry as well as learn about film making in the internet age.
We are extremely proud of our contribution to community web TV and our advances in internet film making, especially our cutting edge method of syndicating our films across the Net on our own web player.
But all good things come to an end – if prematurely in some cases! - and we wish the two million plus visitors to our site as well as all of our supporters the very best for the future.
